You may be interested to know that, out of curiosity, I googled the phrase "partially digested microwave burrito" and the first page returned in the search result was this posting. Congratulations!

Monica - The unfathomable lengths I go to entertain the crowd... Sadly, I must tell you I've not been to Oradea. It's on the list. I've been to places around it. But not actually there.

Given your crash course in Indiananese, I can see how porci would through you off. But, in your shoes, I might been more concerned about what, then, in the world was a hammer! (Musing: I wonder if hammered pigs are anything like pulled pork.)

Heather & Justin - Welcome to the show! I'm undecided about whether brave or cavalier might be the better descriptor, here. ;) (Psst... who's Bogdan?)

I just finished a recent tour of Oltenia, at long last. A woefully under-appreciated part of Romania, in my entirely humble opinion. And the Ostropel? Nothing like it. Mmm mmm mmmm.

From one Romerican to another, you are a braver man than noi, Bogdan. :) It's funny how the local 'menu' changes from region to region... for example, here in Oltenia, they're highly dependent on bird migration :D

Cheers!

Your sacrifice was worth it, so us readers can enjoy another well written story... Sos nebun pentru straini ! lol
Every time I read your blog , my mind takes me back ten years ago, when I moved from Oradea to Indiana. How I became funny over night, by what I do or say... like when my husband said " Bring me the hammer from the porch" and I said:" What porci ( I was thinking pigs).
I wasn't familiar with the words, hammer or porch at the time...

Kim! - A pleasure to have you stop by. I admit the setup was a bit details, but I'm glad you agree it paid off in the end! A warning to us all that we need to remember to do what we've been taught: read the label before you buy!

mamaligagirl - Ha! Donde esta el pato? Not here. A little literary license of the ambiguous nature of the word, I concede. As for TURKEY, it's easy to acknowledge my desire to head back to Stambul. Really had a surprisingly wonderful time and would love to come again.

Laura - That was the mistake, wasn't it? In this case hindsight was a nauseatingly blurry. As you know, I was intrigued by the potential dangers of Tex-Mex frozen food in a crushed box circulating Rahova. But curiosity killed the cat, nu? Ba da!

Well, I guess it's a one lifetime experience...err, if you have the inspiration - like you did - to look at the ingredients.
