BTW, the "rap ţiganesc" was off the hook. I'll check out your other link in the morning. Cut me slack for being old as the hills, but I hate MySpace with a passion (even if I understand it's word-of-mouth potential for musicians).

So, are you Def or Mad? And which one is which, anyway? Normally, I would tend to advise Romanians to *not* sing/rap in English because it sounds goofy as hell to us (read: you'll get no repect) and so unless you're just trying impress Romanians with a little bit of English to be cool or whatever then I recommend you just skip it. Anyway, I said all that because I wanted to say your duo is one of the *very* few that actually did the English right so it doesn't sound lame for once. Nice job. The voices were good. I felt some originality which is hard in a world where most people just copy one another. My only constructive criticism was to say I think you both could improve your timing a little because there was so much being spit that y'all seemed to loose track of the beat here and there. But whatever, it looks like you already have some hot groupie all up on your jock because of the game. Seriously, it was hella fun to check it out and I expect you to let me know if you upload more. It was pretty cool to peep that site, too. I ended up listening to some other music on the site, plus the e-OK site (which has a 99% crap on it).

Tudor - How about that fine installation? Punch a hole in the exterior and run a little tubing through. I'll look around today, but I'm fairly sure these folks gotta be nearly the only one with A/C. I suppose there could be one or two more, tops. There just isn't a lot of that luxury here in The People's Neighborhood for the Union and Brotherhood of Workers.

You bring up an interesting factoid. I suspect most Americans (including myself) would never ever believe you'd have a business inside one of these places. Yet, sometimes there is. It could be that the air conditioning did belong to a stealth business office tucked away on the third floor of nowhere. These things happen, amazingly enough. I should know; my next door neighbor in my bloc? 8a - 5:30p business office for a "construction" company (if one takes the sign at face value).

Narc - Apartments over at Tineretului have some damn good prices. Just a little higher than Rahova, but in a far better section of town which is likely to appreciate faster. If I were investing... But then, there are always bargains to be had elsewhere. The other day I was combing through the newspaper and spied a couple deals for Cismigiu worth checking out.

With all the new construction taking place on the edges of the city, how's Bucuresti going to change? Will it temporarily follow the American pattern where the wealthier people leave the centru? The prices for these new construction apartments are fairly high, so you'd have to be well-off. But I don't see it lasting. This is Europe, where the wealthy eventually move back downtown (as the U.S. [outside of NY] is just barely starting to learn how to do).

mofo - U kno how WE do, Big D. Ce faci, ba? I didn't know they let you out of the pokey, dawg.

^ Hey, at least apartments are cheap. It's hard enough for young folk to move out of the parental home without placing that extra burden out there.

Communist era apartment building, huh? Built for "the working class, and its subset, the intellectuals". I find that AC machine particularly amusing. I guess that's the burgeois of the building. Or is it a company office?

I only wish we could blow them all up and replace them with proper housing, like the areas around Pache Protopopescu or Regina Elisabeta...
