One needs to be a power user to make the change. The GUI is so good that once installed on a box, it can be used with almost no transition by anybody. For people that need to use Scientific software (math symbols, heavy graphing, simulations) there's a lot a good free stuff. Of course, there cd and dvd ripping and burning, htm editors.
