As Romerican begins to once again show signs of life, it is appropriate that we take this first occassion to extend well wishes to our comrade-in-arms, the Griviței Ambassador de Gara.
Contrary to rumor, he was not wounded by vicious bottles of Lowenbrau nor a casualty of the rigors of capitalism. Nay, he has been a victim of his own success — traceur by day, snowboarder by night. Alas, age catches us all.

As much as it might be believable to blame my absence on being maltreated by Romanian health care, I’ve decided to forego the stereotype and remain truthful: no, that’s not I in the photo but rather a very good friend whose love of extreme sports has left him relying strictly on his quick-wittedness for a temporary period.
