Done laughing? Been like this for two weeks. Mmm yeah, like, um, I guess Romtelecom won’t be considered any kind of sponsor of Campionatul Mondial de Bere.

Get yo’ass over to the Astral cable net team. You won’t look back after you do this. Or see if you have any T3 sharing networks in the vicinity (especially if you live near a campus) and ask what’s the price for joining.

  2. Bogdan Says:

Astral are indeed much better than either RDS, Romtelecom or the neighbourhood networks.

But I’m unhappy with them for changing their upload speed from 1.5 MBit/sec to less than 0.5 MBit/sec (the download remained unchanged at 1.5 MBit/sec). Probably they thought they can save a few pennies with that… They won’t save them with me, as I now keep the upload bittorrent open all day, for spite. :-)

  3. jc Says:

Astral never actually had 1.5 Mbit/s upstream, it only went up to at best around 550-600, at least in Bucharest (I never had more than 350-400 Kbps when uploading anyway). This limitation seems to be a limitation of their network and modems (I’ve asked one of their net admins that’s a friend of mine). Oh… and the packet losses? Romtelecom calls them “traffic shaping”. They’re probably caused by the antiquated infrastructure that they own.

  4. Romerican Says:

I’ve been really confused as to whether Astral even offered service here. Didn’t we have a past discussion on this where I learned they do not? I’ve tempted to call them ever since Shrinkalina pointed it out (again). Last time, it was Andy.

There’s the small matter of a contract, of course. Break it and you still owe.

We’ll see what tomorrow brings as Romtelecom is now admitting they must have hosed something during their last visit and has promised to send someone intelligent tomorrow.

Anyone laying odds on the outcome?

Does this mean that technically I beat you?
I got my wireless hook up on Monday-its perfect, love, love, love i!!!

    :-)

    Lies! Lies!

Bah. I suppose you have won then… Tortoise and Hare, eh? These clowns have had me hamstrung on the finish line contemplating my navel.

Have ya seen “Better Off Dead?” I want my two dollars!

  7. Bogdan Says:

It seems that I’m spreading subversive materials on Bittorrent! The anarchist comics I share are being downloaded by people from countries such as the Islamic Republic of Iran or Singapore (both known for their internet censorship). :-)

  8. Romerican Says:

    So, what’s the magnet URI?

  9. Bogdan Says:

    magnet:?xt=urn:btih:IB4OHUDFHTLRPY4FDESCCLLZRUDRU6TG

    it’s http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_for_Vendetta

I just knew They would *have* to make that into a good film, even though They butcher so many comic-based films. Sure enough, They managed to make one heck of a movie from that storyline.

What are you irresponsibly spreading, PDFs? I’ll join the swarm in between the starts and fits of my Romtelenimic connection. Multumesc.

It’s not pdf, it’s cbr. You can read them with:
