Wov, these photos make me want to be a car again :)…
Very liked the idea - one that will be hard to resist to copy!
    Cheers,

  2. Romerican Says:

Thanks for the remarks, Big D. I will probably copy myself another time. There is another similar street just around the corner and I may go sign hunting down it.

These things just leap out at me as completely indicative of the local terrain. Where else could be quite so necessary to have warnings of this nature on every darn door? Hmmph. Odd, methinks.

In the meantime, I’ve got another photo icon obsession which I’ll get around to posting sooner or later.

And I guess I’ll have to keep an eye out for yours, too.

ohmygawdinheaven! that is TOO funny! what’s next? kiosks? how about some notquiteaccessible handicap accessible curbs? (you know, the ones they put a slant on but still have a big edge to negotiate.) OH!!!! i have always wanted to do a series of people smoking right by “no smoking” signs.

really, this series is very nicely done.

  4. Romerican Says:

Say, I like the smoking next to no smoking signs idea! Seems like 85% of Romanians smoke… but that, of course, means there aren’t many no smoking signs. Hmmph.

We’ll have to wait and see what rabbit I pull out of my hat. It should definitely scream “Romania!” when it appears.

    Thanks for the kind remarks.

  5. Ervin Says:

Was that girl under the “Nu parcati!” sign an accident? :)

    Good idea! Felicitari!

  6. Romerican Says:

ervin, multumesc! Da, it was a happy accident as I tried to nab the shot from just a bit too far away, but it’s not one that I regret!

  7. Delice Says:

great idea and very nice pics. i love Brasov and unfortunately i go there only once or twice a year.

  8. Romerican Says:

Thanks, Delice. Very nice of you to stop by. Brasov is pretty awesome, isn’t? That’s why I picked this city to live in, when I could have picked any other city. I really think it’s the best overall city in Romania.

Twice a year isn’t bad for this neck of the woods. You and I know that the majority of Romanians have almost never been out of their own towns. (Of course, I guess I should note that I’ve seen that starting to change since I first came here, but it’s still true-ish.)

So, y’all come on back naw, y’hear? We’s be a-waitin’ on ya. G’on naw.
