Belarus news coverage in Romania
Here is a quick round-up of the lackluster coverage in Romania. Note that there seems to be no official statement from any of Romania’s political leaders on this issue. That, to me, is a tragedy and belies their supposed perspective on liberty in former Soviet empire.

Traian Basescu, how dare you foster a conspiracy of silence!
[Update: An anonymous reader writes in to correct me by saying that Basescu has spoken in support of Belarus on TV.]

What are you talking about? There is plenty of coverage on TV. And i think Basescu is one of the biggest supporters of the Belarusian opposition.

Well, I appreciate your attempt to correct me! Where can I find the coverage? ProTV or ?
Admittedly, I am happy to say I watch very little TV. I have yet to see Basescu on the tube talking about Belarus.
I would be very happy to be incorrect. Is there a particular channel which gives more coverage than another? Let me know and I’ll make an effort to tune in to that one…
In the meantime, I’ve seen zero statements in the any of the papers. Granted, I could have overlooked one, but after checking a dozen or so papers over the past days… and seeing nothing? It’s just not imporant here. (And not that important in the US, either.)
I hope you are right. Let me know, will you?

Try Realitatea TV or N24, there were news about this subject every day.
I don’t know about the other channels since i don’t watch them.
