Alex & the Amazing Half-Million Dollar Pizza

Recently declassified and released under the Freedom of Information Act, we’re able to bring you a few details of the sordid Pizza Mare scandal. Local residents of the Braşov area were shocked to discover the true magnitude of the alleged Blue Viking delivery of a half-million dollar order to Alex.

According to official security camera photos, the monstrosity was significantly larger than her, weighed more than she did, and contained all manner of toppings including, but not limited to, sos roşii, salam, şunca, ciuperci, porumb, ou, gogoşari, carnaţi, mozzarella, telemea, roşii proaspete, şi masline.

Prosecuters are convinced the 2:00 AM order was placed maliciously although the accused denied any wrong-doing when she lied about it being only a mistake. Witnesses for the defense are expected to testify that Alex was not in a state of mind to have noticed the clearly marked size of the pizza prior to ordering. Meanwhile, The Man Who Paid The Bill is believed to be undergoing trauma therapy and is said to be seeking punitive damages in a manner yet to be announced.

“I don’t believe politicians should be arrested for inadvertantly ordering ridiculously huge pizzas,” exclaimed Adrian Nastase after first learning of the incident. To which Corneliu Vadim Tudor quickly added, “There is no doubt of the fact that she was clearly framed by Ferenc Gyurcsány as part of a vast conspiracy.”

The press secretary for Traian Basescu had no comment but later issued a statement clarifying the amounts involved were in lei vechi and not U.S. dollars.

Reading this has been a grand entertainment, thanks. However, I can’t help but feel some of that EPIC discourse in the back of my mind: how the news of the future will be all that the news of the present are + untrue :)))

I can assure you this true-life story was an EPIC disaster… grrr. ;]

[...] Meh. Pretty basic vittles, nothing fantastic. It was the exact typical size of nearly all Romanian pizzas. It had marinara sauce and cheese (sporadically strewn about). The dough was probably the thinnest I’ve had in Romania. Given how little pizza dough comes on the average pizza, I’ll leave to imagine exactly how paper thin this particular variety was. Yet… the taste of the crust was quite okay. [...]
